Regarding Tarble; Tarble's power

Do people consider Tarble canon? Because I just don't like his existence. It just seems weird that Vegeta is always so adamant that he and Kakarot are the only remaining saiyans and then he just casually greets his brother when he turns up.

Anyway, was Tarble actually weak power wise, or was he just of gentle character like Gohan who didn't like to fight and for that reason was an embarrassment to King Vegeta, despite having a respectable power level? It just seems so strange for Vegeta to be so proud of his super elite bloodline and so mocking of Kakarot's low class status if he knew he had a weak brother.

Plus in the OVA Tarble is implied to be stronger than an average saiyan and I doubt he did any real tough training. He implies that the scouter's reading of 5000 from Goku is weak, when in fact, as far as he should know it's pretty strong for a low class saiyan.

Plus if anybody embodies the only child it's Vegeta.

What are your thoughts?

I thought it was a single digit number on his scouter. That being said, eh, if Goku went unnoticed by Frieza after order 66 was issued, no reason that Tarble can't. Or Broly. Or Paragus. Or Turles. Frankly it's hard to eradicate an entire species, especially one that's essentially a band of intergalactic space pirates.

Vegeta definitely would've known about his brother being alive, there's no doubt about that. He may not have been proud of him, but he no doubt would've mentioned him at some point.

I don't consider him to be canon, even though he was mentioned in Battle of Gods. I also am a bit weary to consider Battle of Gods manga canon, like Toriyama claims it is mostly because it doesn't fit in with was we see in EoZ.

How really? If Tarble was hiding or assumed dead, then wouldn't Vegeta just assume the same. He clearly didn't like him much, I doubt he'd go out of his way to find him. Raditz knew about Goku and didn't bother coming to get him for damn near 25 years.

Why would he assume him as dead? No one assumed Goku as dead, and Raditz came knocking after 24 years.

Given the context of the situation, Vegeta probably would've thought that his own brother (of elite blood) would've been a better fit than Raditz's low class brother for conquering planets.
We don't know anything about Tarble prior to Freeza's empire being disbanded. There's no reason to believe that Vegeta didn't know where he was.

Unless he thought of him as the same low class trash as Kakarot. And if I remember correctly, the King said the weak ones were sent off world. This would include a weak son of his.

And either way. Vegeta is still a jerk, he didn't even think much of his infant son's safety during the conflict with Gero, so I doubt he'd care about his brother either way, dead or not. Raditz didn't care much for his brother either, and somehow I don't think Raditz is less of an evil jerk than Vegeta is through MOST of the series.

Vegeta made it pretty clear the only two surviving saiyans were him and Goku when trunks arrived. Same as Ketchup, I don't consider him manga canon. I'll deviate a bit from her viewpoint a bit tho, considering him storyline canon.

So let's expound on this a bit, how can anyone be sure that an entire species of space fairing Spartan pirate were monkies all just so happened to be on their home planet when it exploded? And more importantly, how did the three ensalved ones have better tabs on what was happening in the universe then the guy who physically owned it? Talk about a plot hole Kamehameha.

I always assumed Freeza made his attack when he knew the vast majority of saiyans would be home. You have to remember as well that as a species saiyans would be few in number because of their thirst to fight and also simply because of how much they eat. It'd drain resources to have a planet filled with billions of saiyans.

I was mainly searching for people's opinion on Tarble's natural power and whether he was weak or just lacked fighting spirit or the aggressiveness of other saiyans. As like I said, Vegeta's pride is influenced massively by his bloodline and he is angered to extremes by a low level who could match/surpass him. Tarble heralds from the same bloodline, so wouldn't that throw doubts on Vegeta's assertion he should be the very best? Like no one ever was?

Tarble's a weak mess. Look at his body. He's barely got any muscle. He can probably lift 100 pounds at most.

1,000,000 at most, and that's after years of running from Abo and Cado-san.

In regards to Vegeta adamantly suggesting that he and Kakarotto are the only remaining Saiyajins, Vegeta probably thought he died or something as he had such a low fighting power. Speaking of which, I don' think he's anything special. I like to think he's 10 times weaker than Saiyajin arc Vegeta, so a 1,800 works for me.

Muscle mass doesn't mean much, at least in terms of their natural power. Remember how puny Vegeta was when he arrived on the scene? Goku and Vegeta are both much smaller than Nappa and Raditz and probably the average saiyan as well.

1000000 is still massive for any saiyan to achieve not under the conditions of Goku and Vegeta. Especially if all he did was run away.

That still doesn't explain why Vegeta is so confident in his royal blood. Tarble's blood is the same as his and yet Vegeta repeatedly loses his mind over Goku surpassing him. I like to think of it as Tarble's nature that is non-saiyan, much like Gohan. He was unwilling to fight and ddn't care about getting any stronger or conquering any foes and therefore an embarrassment to the King. He wouldn't have been born as strong as Vegeta but I'd want him still above average, just for my own peace of mind. Still, I'd prefer him non-canon...as would King Vegeta.

It's stated that King Vegeta sent Tarble to a remote planet because he was a disgrace. In other words, Tarble is a special case. Vegeta clearly has something to gloat about considering he surpassed the strength of every Saiyajin, including his father, when he was just a boy.

Yeah but Vegeta never just says "I'm the best, I've always been the best, gosh darn it somebody surpassed me!" he says "You are a low class, I'm a super, royal blooded, saiyan elite". He's always banging on about his birth right and his lineage versus Goku's. If there was a major blip in his precious heritage I think it'd concern him more. That's just my interpretation anyway. As I've said before Vegeta versus Goku is nature versus nurture. Goku transcends his genes and proves effort and attitude is worth more than genetics. That's the whole point, any saiyan could be Goku if they'd been sent to earth and hit their head. It's who he is that makes him the perfect saiyan. However, the genetic side is still there and that's why the caste system existed for the saiyans, because - in hindsight - they were all actually very poorly trained. You have Vegeta, Nappa and Raditz and it's fairly safe to assume they all went through similar experiences. Vegeta was at 18000, Nappa at 7000? and Raditz at 1500. I'd put Tarble at 8000 if he'd been with them and had the will to fight.
